Processes:

Set your communication channels:

Communication is key, it has to be clear, constant and unified so that conversations are warm and friendly, but at the same time have the formality of a corporate request.

For this to happen it is important to define which are the official communication channels, do not let some things be sent in emails, others by Slack others by personal messaging applications, separate them from work and leisure channels. And please.

Whatever you do, do not send your company’s weekly schedule by whatsApp!

Asynchronous culture

Keep your team aligned even when they are in different time zones, you can be from anywhere in the world and this implies that you should feel comfortable delegating tasks to your team, while you sleep, you do not need to see how your employees do things, you need them things get done.

Have 1-to-1 meetings regularly:

Generally, your team will feel more comfortable talking with you personally about the things you need to move forward than in common spaces, you need to create a space of trust with your team.

This space will serve you not only to question your team about their performance at work but also to be interested on a personal level about how your team is growing individually in the team and how from your role you can become a better person.

After knowing this, you will have everything you need to effectively manage your remote computer. Don’t forget to read our post on the 5 most common remote work mistakes and let us know in the comment section if these tips were helpful to you 😀.
