Note: make sure you don’t read this as a manual, we don’t pretend to give extraordinary solutions, you need to find your own formula and see the big picture, that will help you to create what works best for you.
1. Wake up early
This seems like the most obvious recommendation, but it is a great first step to increase your productivity, in fact in the book “The 5 AM Club”, we can learn a good number of secrets to start your day much earlier. Let others give you a competitive advantage, start thinking faster than your competitors.
In addition to this, getting up early will not necessarily help you to work much more, but to: review your day, exercise, meditate, and these little things that in the long run will bring not only more productivity but more well-being to your life.
2. Get out of bed with the right mindset
Not every day we wake up equally motivated, and getting out of bed with the correct foot is very important to stay productive.
And the main reason why we lose motivation is that we are not clear about the “purpose” of what we do, we are so busy accomplishing our tasks that we never think why we are accomplishing them.
The concept of purpose was introduced by Simon Sinek, and it is the most appropriate way to keep motivation high, even on the toughest days.
The purpose, one of the reasons that exists teams like Google, have positioned themselves as innovative companies, having the same talent, the same team of consultants, the same means as all their competitors.

“Take a few minutes to think about what motivates you to get up every day.”
3. Eat a breakfast rich in protein
Eat your breakfast with a sufficient amount of protein, avoid foods, cereals, and fruits will give you the energy you will need for the day to stay active, in this first meal your body will convert this food into glucose, enough for the brain to stay alert .
This sounds too obvious, doesn’t it? The part that isn’t so obvious is that our bodies don’t process all foods at the same rate. Some foods, such as pasta, bread, cereals, release their glucose quickly, which causes an energy explosion.
Others, such as processed and high-fat foods provide more sustained energy, but require our digestive system to work harder, reducing oxygen levels in the brain and making us slower, your body has been inactive for 8 hours and in this first meal you must give you enough fuel to start your day with activity.
4. Exercise before going to work
Exercise at least 3 times a week, according to the American Heart Association an adult should do at least 150 minutes a week of exercise to keep his heart in shape. Turning this into a morning routine will wake her whole body before she starts the day.
Great entrepreneurs like Richard Branson, recommend this habit to reduce stress and increase your productivity, putting the body in motion reduces the amount of cortisol in the body, oxygenates the brain and makes you think more clearly.
5. Drink enough water
It is something very basic that we must use to better know our day, it will help us to concentrate more among the list of benefits for our health of adopting this habit is:
- Improve digestion
- Eliminate bacteria from the bladder
- Stabilize blood pressure.
If all this is not enough to convince you to go for a glass of water, it is also the best excuse to get up from your job and walk seems little, but just getting up and walking will help improve your circulation and carry more oxygen to the brain.
Apply one or more of these recommendations and find your own formula, in this post you will find things that you probably already knew, but explained with data that will help you convince yourself that this is the best way to go.
